Hello darlings. Happy new year. Am back in Brum, back to work, real life continues apace, but bugger all that for the moment because ( Green Wing finale. )
I CANNOT SEE MY EYES HAVE SHRIVELLED TO HUSKS! *weeps on your shirt*
(omg, yes, the women going feral! New!Karen with her hair and heels and suit! Sue's perfectness and her attractive adoring new boyfriend and her interactint with Guy, ohhh it was awesome. Oh, and blatantly Attractive!curvy!Office Girl and will start going out with Karen now. She made her coffee out of fear! It's love!)
OH, WHY MUST YOU HURT ME WITH YOUR WRONG PAIRINGS?
But the Guyness was glorious, I was mostly disappointed with the episode sadly, but the bits with him really did make it for me. Even if they did make him go a bit odd again. The bits with him and Mac were mostly great though. Even if they did seem to skim over Guy's reaction to his best friend dying. I FIC THOSE PARTS IN MY HEAD. ALSO THE PART WHERE MAC HAS CARTE BLANCHE NOW SO JUST SEDUCES HIM WITH HANDCUFFS. Joanna and Statham are clearly too rubbish to properly kill themselves. Or maybe just Statham. Maybe Guy's mother and best friend will die at the same time, and he can have ALL THE ANGST EVER.
And naturally I loved the office girls. And Harriet being the new Mummy in town. It was beautiful. I'm mostly interested now to see what's in the deleted scenes/extended ending.
I love Caroline/Mac. *beams at you unapologetically*
I didn't think they skimmed! Not proportionately speaking. Caroline hardly got much reaction time at all apart from a brief embarrassing conversation by a river bank and some shouting in front of some children. Some shouting that didn't make sense, I might add.
I think I mostly loved it because I didn't have any expectations. Second season so thoroughly destroyed my love for it, Rachael, I feel okay in expressing this now that it's partly back again, but oh god I hated it so, with its total wank ignoring of timelines and its excessive Statham cruelty and its sudden distressing left-turn into murder. But this episode was happy and had balloons! Ballons, Rachael

You don't have to apologise for Caroline/Mac. It being constantly pushed on the show and the comms and Heat magazine makes me a bit RABIDLY INSANE sometimes. Hmph.
It is true about Caroline. And they didn't show Sue White at all, as I recollect. I think maybe because Guy is canonically so emotionally rubbish (crying in coatrooms and the like) I expected more from him. But he got the drunken "What?" scene and some lovely stuff that got deleted, so I am placated. Probably they were never going to GIVE IN TO THE ANGST like I seem to want them to. It would have been great if Guy's reaction was way more extreme than Caroline's and requiring a lot more reassurance, though. On more than just a slashy level. His sadface was beautiful anyhow. I may icon it.
The first series was by far the best - they seemed to go a bit far into the surreal comedy in the second. Instead of focusing on the bitey, only mildly insane characters we all loved. But I was mostly distracted from it all by the way they made Guy suddenly vulnerable and lovely. HE GAVE

I even loved Caroline marrying Mac because he's going to die so it's alright.
And Boyce with his furlong of bras, and Martin still being inadequate, and Guy being Guy.
And I loved the women in the office going feral!
And Statham and Joanna's finale was great!!
And OMG SUE WHITE!!1!!
