Well, I hope that's because you're all LOOKING OUT OF YOUR WINDOWS! OMG THE EARTH IS A RED SHADOW ON THE MOOOOOOON! If you stood up tall enough in the right place on ( Read more... )

I was thinking we're probably not on the right bit. We should have done maths to work out which people would be on the right bit, and then told them what to do. Or we could've made Patrick Moore do it. Maybe if we went to the top of the mountains and THEN jumped. It seems so wrong that just waving doesn't work. Maybe it's working but we just can't see ourselves becaue we don't have a telescope. OH MY GOD IT IS SO RED, IT IS CRAZY, WHAT ARE WE DOING, WE ARE IN SPACE!

I am sorry you deleted that. Because the fact that the moon is bigger than an apple is one that could always do with some reinforcing. IT IS SO VERY BIG AND IT HAS MOUNTAINS AND DENTS ON IT! AND OH MY GOD YOU CAN SEE ALL THE SPACE BETWEEN US AND IT. WHAT IS WITH THAT??

It is coming out of it a bit now! I want to see it get all free. I also want to go to bed. Why does life test me in this way?

Patrick Moore is probably in dereliction of his duty. Possibly he could be court-martialled. By the astronomer's court!

Oh noes! A wolf has wolfed down the moon! But if we make lots of noise the wolf'll be scared off and we'll have the moon back.

RED CHEEEESE!

(I watched as the Earth eclipsed the moon from the sun earlier.)

Wait, is that the wrong terminology? A lunar eclipse is when the moon goes in front of the sun, actually, isn't it? OH I AM A PLEB. What is the correct term for the Earth eclipsing the moon? Is it a... Terran eclipse? Hot earth-on-moon action? WHAT?

OH PHEW. *clings to you a bit* You are terribly clever. ♥

*looks at tags* I think perhaps I should sort my tags out a bit. They're slightly confusing now.

Heh I was watching outside and then got cold and a bit bored and hey I had seen most of it already so I came back to my toasty warm room and delicious laptop :D

On the plus side, I do have two moon-themed icons.

Yes, I am hovering back and forth between the computer and window. It is quite slow-moving I suppose. My sensibilities have been too soiled by TV. Maybe if it was being eclipsed by... Keanu Reeves jumping in front of it and shooting big guns at the stars, maybe then I'd be glued to it more loyally. BUT OH DUDE IT IS WEIRD OH. OH WE ARE IN FRONT OF THE MOON! OH THE SKY IS NOT FLAT IT IS 3D! OH WHAT HAPPENS IN ALL THAT SPACE BETWEEN THINGS??

You and your icons. Tchuh. *grudging admiration* I demonstrate to you my newest and rubbishest icon. I WANT TO MARRY THIS MAN AND YOU WON'T EVEN KNOW WHO HE IS. Ah well. :D

Heh. In the space all between things, tiny pixie frolic and play and plot stealing the good tv away from us all.

This is my other moon icon. You will win ten points if you can guess who it is. :D

The internet tells me that your icon is of some guy called Renko from Hill Street Blues, but imdb and wikipedia both fail to deliver on the pictures front for him and google images is a bit poor when combined with my general inability to recognise people. :D

As it happens you would need to jump very high indeed, it's only the outer layers of the atmosphere which bend the light and make the moon that colour. Still, I guess if you don't try you'll never get there :)

I love how everyone seems to know stuff about moons and eclipses and stuff. Although I... don't really understand what you mean in this case. *g* Have you a helpful link?

Well there's a sort of Mickey mouse version halfway down here, but I warn you it's very handwavey indeed :s

It's only BURNT OCHRE. Everyone's LEAST FAVOURITE watercolour shade. The most unsharpened crayon of them all. Also I'm a bit cross because there's a streetlight in the way. It actually is quite interesting to see the moon being a colour I've never seen it been before, but really I was more expecting it to glow, and possible to throb.

WHATHO THERE IS A THIN LINE OF WHITE NOW IT IS COMING OUT IT IS CURVED LIKE A SABRE I LOVE IT OH DUDE THE MOON IS COMING BACK OUT AGAIN OH IT IS SO BRIGHT! I am sorry about the streetlight. I have one too. Several. I'm covering it over with my hand and looking up and trying to think pure thoughts. OH IT IS EXCITING. How were you expecting it to glow if it's being covered with dark? I am sorry about it not throbbing though.

Mostly, and this is primarily because I didn't listen properly in year nine, I don't understand how this is different to a new moon and why new moons don't glow red normally and I DON'T UNDERSTAND. Also moons don't normally go through all their phases in two hours, which is mostly very fun of it. Actually I do get it if I think about it. It'll be to do with which bit of the earth the moon's hovering over. The monthly thing. And this is just something else entirely. Yes.

I expected it to glow because a man on the BBC said it was like Mars, only more exciting. I assumed that meant glowing. The sabre is great though. It made me laugh. I like when I can see the edge of the planet's shadow on the moon. Because actually that's so deranged. The thing I live on is casting a shadow on another thing in space. OH MY.

Oh, now I think about it I don't really understand all that stuff either. Not properly. Never mind, wikipedia will help me.

EXACTLY IT IS QUITE DERANGED. Like, WHAT dude WHAT? Also, you can tell it is MOVING. ALL THE THINGS ARE MOVING. And the fact that there is nothing else between us and it and it is a long way away and in between is just PLANET-SIZED SPACE OH OH OH WE ARE SO LUCKY. You know, not to live in a universe where the sky is flat, or anything. OH OH OH.
