I'm glad you wrote this. Because I feel like this all of the time. I don't think it helps that I spent the last three years living 3 different lives. Unwinding those strands down to one is turning out to be a difficult maze. There are people that will hold and keep your secrets. But you're right, others will break under the weight of them. And then people change.
There were things I could not tell you two years ago, that would be safe in your ears now. It's all in the timing, context, blah blah blah.
How could we ever be totally honest with ourselves? We think too much of our self, protection from the fact that we are inherently sinful. We have our own thoughts and actions, saturated with feelings...but we have no idea what the person next to us was experiencing. In the end, we do the best we can. We identify our weaknesses, lower our pride, learn to say 'I'm sorry', and things become clearer.

I'm looking forward to seeing you tomorrow. You're real.

tasha,
wow.. i totally feel ya on this one. i don't think we can ever truly open up all that much to people.. what if they can't handle it even??? hmmmm i guess i've always taken the safe route and not risk things.. which is also probably why i don't feel truly connected with anyone.
