I've been wondering why TV shows in the later season tend to shoot more scenes using the main sets instead of outside or in multiple places like in earlier seasons? why is it the more a show becomes sucsessful the less sets they use to tell the story.

ive noticed it in True Blood this year and other show i watch/watched.

Primarily, money. The longer a show is on the air, the more expensive it is to produce. One way that producers cut costs is by using pre-existing sets as much as possible.
