Tomatoes really like warmth. I wouldn't expect them to be doing well at this point. Maybe plastic around them? I don't think they need a fan. Just this ole farmer's humble opinion!

Thanks! It's about 70-75 degrees in there. Is that too cool? I have plastic wrapped around some parts of the shelf and aluminum foil around other parts. I'm afraid of wrapping it too much for lack of air flow. Also cuz it makes it a pain to go in and water and mess with them.

I rather enjoyed DM's description of the spray painting. As soon I saw the lamp before I scrolled I was like SPAY PAINT THAT BITCH. I assembled the light in my old kitchen from one I got at Habitat. It was an old schoolhouse lamp. They cost $200 at Pottery Barn type places. I payed $5 and then got a ceiling fan adapter kit. Ok so I didn't think through CHANGING THE BULB on a schoolhouse lamp with a cathedral ceiling but it still rocked.

I could NEVER grow plants of any kind in my house. Damned cats eat everything.

I can not take the cuteness of Cookie Puss/Carl. I want to squeeze him through the screen.

That's awesome about your lamp! See, we have nothing cool like that at ours.

This morning at like 7am we woke up to a really loud noise- it was PJ (hello, you're supposed to be sick) climbing up onto the shelves and knocking down a bunch of coffee cans of dirt I had up there. Lukcily they were just there warming up and nothing had been planted yet. I have a sheet velcro-ed around the whole shelf and still somehow he messed with it. I have no idea what I'm gonna do.
