This fall I finished the third out of the five of the Dutch classes I need to be fluent, and started the fourth, but realized it might involve a nervous breakdown, and the pride of being almost-fluent in a new language in a year (though I was never a language-person before) was not worth it

It's been a long time since I've checked livejournal. Congrats on getting a handle on Dutch! Are you taking classes in university or a private school? At some point it looks like I am going to be formally tackling German. It is a daunting prospect.

Hi! It is...but really rewarding too. I hope to see you because I've realized that I have to get around Europe more and have some friends in Berlin to visit.
