If I'd ever watched or read Harry Potter, I'd probably be freaking out now, too. I kind of like having a flist that follows a variety of fandoms. I get to keep up on things I'm not even watching :-)
House is just the best show ever. I'm now midway through S3 on DVD. LOVE it. Watched four episodes in row last night. I'm now irrationally

There have been a lot of shows where my "preferred" pairing never even got together, so I guess I don't think I'd ever stop watching a show if my "OTP" (that week, haha) was destroyed. Cause that would have happened many times over if it were the case haha.

I've never gotten hooked purely, or even mostly, for a ship, never stayed watching just for a ship, and never quit over a ship. My breakup with Charmed was semi-ship related, but it was mostly supercrappy quality and the death of the male in the ship, who was my favorite character. I'm more of a character person; as long as they're good and fairly consistent, I can take or leave ships, and can usuall swallow a good dose of plotline idiocy.
So yeah. I can do without ships, but when I do find them, I generally will take them to the grave with me.

You know, I really like what you said about being a character person. In hindsight, I guess I kind of am, too.
There are some ships I'll take to the grave, too *coughCOAKEcough*. Others kind of come and go for me.

And yes, Coake is with me forever and always. I'll usually find my 'OTP' for each show, and that's the one that really sticks, and others come and go like you said. But it takes a lot for me to drop a ship, because it takes a lot for me to really start shipping them to begin with.
I hope we get some Coake this season. :-(

Is it possible to ship screen time between characters - romantic or not?
And talk about being a character person...that's me with Locke.
