Okay, so I've been re-watching the season three episodes of Battlestar Galactica lately (shut up!), and in either "Torn" or "A Measure of Salvation" (or perhaps even earlier) the Cylons casually mention in a little exposition moment that they're all created from some particular genetic stock, blah, blah, blah ( Read more... )

Yes, you're a complete nerd!

I heard that, on the final episode Starbuck is going to wake up in bed with BOB NEWHART, and realize it was all a dream.

By the way, speaking of Nerdism, do you have a Facebook account?

Yeah... I don't like Facebook, but I guess it has its uses. I'm under "Andrea Love", and the photo of me is blue and wearing a surgical mask and gloves (obviously).

Teehee! That was the greatest ending to a show ever, but I'll have to hunt-down and kill Ron D. Moore if he pulls something so ridiculous (unless he decides to populate this "Earth" with robotic daggits, in which case I'm cool).

I used to count the "fraks" in BG and give myself and invisible nickel for each. I usually got 35 or 40 cents an episode. Yeah, I'm a real nerd, too.

Haven't seen BG in ages, though -- reminded me too much of Dave. I think I'm over it, and could watch it again, though. Gotta get DVDs and play catch up.

I know it sucks when memories of people and events ruin something you previously enjoyed. If you like it, though, maybe you should try watching - just to remind yourself that you have the right to do and enjoy anything you want to, sister! (says the person who still avoids playing the piano due to its associations...) ;P

I don't pay attention to release dates for a reason, I guess... this way good news comes all unexpected. Now I have to wait a week? Damn.

Yes, I'm entirely too prone to loving things without thinking critically, and then staying fiercely loyal. I make too many excuses, but I don't mind - though it really does bother me that a population of billions could develop immunity to a virus within a couple of thousand years (or whatever), when for that to happen there must an advantageous mutation, strong selective pressure, and some severe population bottleneck that causes enough inbreeding for the gene to be present in all individuals. During the Black Death, perhaps 50% of Europe's population was wiped out then went on being decimated by waves of plague for many years. This was almost 700 years ago, and yet only around 10% of Europeans today have a gene that makes them resistant to HIV (this is a genetic shift that is thought to be related to the massive population depletion and the advantage conferred by that gene). 10%, not 100%! Doesn't it make much more sense for the virus to have mutated rather than the human genome? Viruses have a much more rapid life cycle and a ( ... )
