He's torn about stepping in. The girl's got his son by the chin, turning his head to one side then the other in the light.
She frowns, and the bare trace of a half-smile on his own lips hardly betrays the fact that he's near bruising a rib keeping in a good laugh. His son hasn't moved, most likely still shocked over being grabbed in such a manner.
“You have freckles,” she says first to his son, and then turns her head to face him. She raises an eyebrow. “Wyatt, do you have...?”
He does his best to look stern, offended, though a grin wants to break. “Not me. His mother.”
His son frees himself from the girl's loose grip, shrugging his shoulders. “No, she didn't. Mother did not have - ”
He smiles wickedly, can't help it. “Yeah,” he says, walking away, lest they see his unbidden flush, the grin. “She did.”
