Notes: As the saying goes, "it's complicated". Obviously doesn't fit with later pityverse, but earlier Azkadellia and Ambrose interactions I've written could match up to this.
Sometimes it was difficult, when he watched her with the man she knew as her father. He was glad to be her friend and her teacher, but the pride he felt in Azkadellia was a father's pride and sometimes when Ambrose sat with the princess, his heart ached for wanting to act as a father would and as he could not.
Azkadellia was reminded of her father sometimes, in the way her mother's adviser looked at her. Ambrose, she thought, was easily one of her favorite people in the castle. She wondered from time to time what is might be like for the O.Z. if he were the prince consort and the man her mother had wed. Such fancies made her giggle but always feel a little guilty, for Azkadellia loved her father very dearly and knew he loved her just as well.
When he looked into his daughters eyes, he remembered enough from high school biology to know she couldn't be his by blood. He didn't love her any less and he would never bring it up to question with the queen. As far as Ahamo was concerned Azkadellia was his by heart and that was what mattered.
