[A few letters have been left in strategic places around Camp.]
Constable Benton Turnbull
Mr. Turnbull,
Thank you for all your hospitality over the years--Canada was a wonderful place to live. I couldn't have hoped for a nicer place or nicer people to share it with. Even in the middle of all of Camp's weird stuff, the Consulate always felt... safe. I'll miss that.
I'm going home, now, but don't worry--I'll be completely quite probably statistically safe very careful. Thank you for being my host and my friend.
Your friend,
Mullin Shetland
PS: If you get the chance, please thank Miss Peppo for the wonderful job she did keeping everything neat and tidy. I hope I wasn't too much of a nuisance for her.
Miss Violet Baudelaire
Dear Violet,
Thank you for everything. I don't know if I would've made it this long in Camp without you and your inventions and your friendship. (The Bear Spray was always very helpful.) You're a genius and a good friend, so thanks for being both. I was lucky to have met you.
I have to go home now. I won't tell you not to worry, because... well, it's going to be dangerous. I'm going back to the war, but it's something I have to do. I know you understand that better than most people--there are some things you have to go back and face, even if you have a chance to get away. We both have people counting on us.
Good luck, for whenever you get home. Stay safe, and keep fighting for your brother and sister. I know you'll win.
With love & best wishes,
Mullin
PS: This might be my last chance, so--thank you, Miss Baudelaire. Ma'am. (But really, thank you, Violet.)
Miss Eureka
Eureka,
I have to leave Camp now. I wanted to thank you--for talking with me, for letting me try to talk to your giant robot, and especially for being my friend. I'm sorry I never heard what Nirvash was saying, but I'm glad it he that child talks to you. You won't be as lonely that way.
And I'm also glad your magical flight waves have appeared in Camp so you two can go flying again. (Just maybe try to be quieter about it, okay? (That was a joke.)) That's the good part about me getting to leave--no matter what else, I get to go back to the skies, too. I'll just miss seeing you in them.
Your friend,
Mullin
PS: Please keep that truce with Miss Anemone. It's better to have peace here, I think, while you can. You deserve it.
Miss Robin Sena
Dear Robin,
I'm really going to miss you. A lot. But my time here in Camp is up, and I have to go home and finish fighting my war. I had a great time here, meeting wonderful people like you and so many others, but I knew this was just a furlough. It took me a long time to find something worth fighting for, but I did, and, well... now I have to go back and do that fighting.
I just wish I hadn't found so much else worth it, here, when I have to give it up.
Thank you for being my friend. Knowing that there were people like you who liked me, who cared enough to worry about me... That means more to me than I can say, so I won't even try--I'd just mess it up. But I can say thank you, again and again: thank you for worrying, thank you for caring, thank you for being my friend.
Only, please don't worry any more--I'll be fine. I'm a professional, after all. (That was a joke.) (But really, don't worry.) And take care of yourself. I know you have a fight to go back to, too, but I know you'll win. You're a wonderful person, and anyone who can't see that will never win.
With love & best wishes,
Mullin
PS: I mean it--be careful!
