Work, work, work. Feels good to be doing something useful again.
Snake. You got the cigarettes, right?
[Private to Misa//Hackable by Mello]
I'm just going to come out and say this because if I pussyfoot around it, I'll end up digging myself into a deeper hole.
I'm sorry.
Light...he's from your world, y'know? When he showed up, well, he seems to know you pretty well, and I was all caught up in Mello's lies...this is going to sound incredibly stupid any way I say it...I was just afraid that he was going to take you away from me.
Can we start over? He does seem like a good kid and you were right - he's been nothing but one hundred percent nice to me, even when I basically treated him like the scum of the Earth.
And even if he is Kira - it doesn't really matter, does it? The more I think about it, the more I realize that Kira was probably right.

Alrighty, self. You ever start thinking that Light-O is right, you check in here and smack yourself across the face.
Kira is a young man named Light Yagami. He believes - and led others to believe - that he is a God. Nothing could be further from the truth. In reality, he is a psychopath who attempted to 'cleanse the world' of the criminal element (initially) and all those who would oppose him (as time went on) using a notebook called the Death Note, which is capable of killing anyone whose name is written in it. Actual number of murders is unknown, but it was enough to trigger a large-scale investigation involving four (?) geniuses: Mello, Ryuuzaki, Near, and 'L.' Light himself worked on the investigation force for an unknown amount of time.
At some point, he gained two followers: Misa Amane, an idol who also had a Death Note, and Teru Mikami (profession unknown - lawyer?). Misa felt indebted to Kira because he killed the criminal(s?) responsible for the death of her parents. She became and remains mindlessly devoted to him. Misa possesses the eyes of a Death God, which allow her to see a person's name and lifespan if she looks at their face. Mikami's reason for joining Kira were unknown (he may or may not have had a Death Note of his own) but he eventually came to his senses and recognized Light as the false God he was.
Christ, this is a lot to write up.
Light is insane, but smart. He's an excellent liar and master manipulator with a hearty helping of literal God complex on the side. Never trust him.
