I have a question I don't want to Google to avoid spoilers. Are we gonna know later on LTR why Xiao Ge doesn't age or is it from one of the earlier series? If it's from the earlier series, can you tell me?

Honestly, all my knowledge is second-hand, because I haven't read the books nor watched any of the other (thousand) DMBJ series.

But from what I understand, he - as a member of the Zhang family - is just very long-lived. It's not that he doesn't age, he just ages very very slowly. It has to do with the Zhang blood, which is somehow magical and can be used as an antidote for all kinds of things, which also means that Xiaoge rarely gets ill and most poisons don't work on him, that kind of thing.

(Same with Glasses, btw. He's also very old and only ages very slowly, but I think for other reasons, because he's not a Zhang.)

Second-hand knowledge is fine too, I was just curious about it.

I hope he gets more scenes with Wu Xie soon. I loved when Pangzi said Xiao Ge's tattoos were only for Wu Xie. Hello, censorship people, what's your heterosexual take on this scene? lol

Thank you for the summary! I don't think I'm up for reading a book like that, but I appreciated knowing what was in it.

You're welcome! I suspected that might be the case for a lot of people, which is why I tried to give a comprehensive review.

It is very good. (I neglected to mention that she won a prize for it, too.)

I hope you find it an interesting read!

This sounds like an interesting, but also very depressing, read.
