Hinga, Dinga, Durgen, We Think We're Vikings

It was early, normally what Tino would consider far too early to be waking up. But with how early it had actually been when they'd fallen asleep. (Had his watch, which he'd set to Sweden Time after landing, been right when it said it'd only been 8:30 when they finally passed out?) Then again, everyone had been jet lagged and with the sun having ( Read more... )

Berwald got up with the first birds as he heard the blacksmith arrive in his shop and started the fires in the forge. It was rare that Tino was already stirring. "Good morning Askling." Berwald said kissing Tino's brow as he sat up and stretched and prodded their fire to life again before getting up and stretched.

"I'm going to get started on making us more things to EAT off of. I'll let you delegate food chores with Eeva and Siguard if they're up."

Berwald quickly made his way and shook hand with a man that made BERWALD look thin and average. It was a treat. Berwald was able to procure good wood-working tools from his shed and some sandpaper and he set to work on some of the chopped firewood fashioning more trenchers and bowls for everyone to use at meals while everyone was still sleeping.

Typically Eduard was the first of the two of them to be awake, but for some reason being out in the very primal and manly scenario the group was in brought out the inner conquering barbarian in Gilbert and he was up with the barest trace of the early morning light. He blinked his red eyes open and shifted under the warmth of the furs piled atop the bed and heard a quietly muffled groan as arms constricted around his middle. That meant Eduard was still asleep which caused the Prussian's waking mind to do a sort of internal "happy dance ( ... )

Tino had already put the percolator on the fire in the great hall. He would have to do it twice more if everyone was to get a cup. He was shuffling around getting the cauldron ready to make home-made oatmeal. It would be a good breakfast for everyone, as it required very little to be filled and remain full for a while. But he was starting to wonder where Eeva was, he'd gone and knocked on their cabin door before coming over here, to give them their wake up call, but all he'd heard was a grunt from Linus as he was waking up... Eeva hadn't responded to him... huh ( ... )

"I'm hungry and want something to eat off of later. As for knives, we won't need any, go take a look at that back cabinet, it's full of steely wonder." Berwald said motioning with his head toward the direction of a weapon's cabinet.

"I already talked with our smithy, if we want a turn at the forge we're more than welcome to bang our brains out. I already did this on the island when I made that infernal sword. Not sure I want to make another weapon. I'll stick with making us place settings I think." Berwald said setting a finished trencher aside and starting on another.

"If I made another axe I'd have to have it shipped to Copenhagen, I don't know how the school would feel about me owning one on the island again after what I did with my last one... I didn't display it, not even after getting home for a few days over break before going to Oslo. I kindda put it in the attic and there it's going to stay for a while, I don't want to look at it. But my bearded axes I'm still okay with. I'm excited for summer break as well, I'm going to go on the faire circuit and see how well I can do at some of the Viking sport competitions. I almost won axe throwing last year, maybe this one I can bring home a victory. You know what Svenk," And here he gave Berwald an affable punch in the shoulder. "over the summer you should pack up the wife and bring yourselves to my home for a week or two when the viking games are on. I bet you could do a fair job competing in the hammer throw. I think it could be a lot of fun, and, after all, after this little adventure's over you could say we came to visit your home land, so now it ( ... )

"Douchebag walking. Just don't ever do that, you'll be fine." Berwald said rolling his eyes at Mathias writhing in pain. "And Linus. I'll tell you about the five years I spent just worshiping Tino from a distance sometime. I was so afraid I was going to ruin everything and he was so afraid of me I invented a secret identity just to leave him tokens of affection. I was pathetic. You're fine, honestly. Just be yourself." Berwald patted Linus' arm and smiled.

"And quit moaning asshole, you deserved that whack in the head."

"Suck my dick Svenk Siguard got a hard swing on that one, I saw stars." He gripped, rubbing at the back of his head where there would soon be a goose egg ( ... )

"Just don't worry about it Linus. Let each moment come as it comes. Just never forget to tell her you love her at least once a day. Everything else tends to sort itself out in the long run. God knows I have a lot of faults and Tino helps me through them." Berwald smiled finishing his breakfast and getting up to wash his dish in the trough that was filled with soapy water.

Linus had been pushing his oatmeal around with his spoon while listening to Berwald. This was a man who was about three years older than the Swede, but on some emotional level seemed as awkward and shy as a boy three years younger. Linus was painfully shy, and terrified of failure, but certainly most fearful of disappointing the few people who he knew respected him. His mother, and Eeva in particular. "I tell her a couple times a day." He smiled, his freckled face becoming pink as he decided he'd fiddled with his oatmeal long enough and finished eating it. "I have a lot of faults too. I'm wishy washy ( ... )
