Macbethhhh.

Right so, in English atm we are studying Macbeth. This is because our English teacher (who is the most epic person evar) prefers it to Romeo and Juliet, which I can sympathise with. >>

So lots of people are going on about how they find Macbeth really boring, but I think it's awesome. I kid you not ( Read more... )

Who is your teacher? We have Mr Thomas. Who is epic. I mean did you teacher act out the fighting scene in Romeo and Juliet with a rubber glove (R for Romeo), a ruler (has cm and mm, M for Mercutio [sp?]), a punching pen (it's like a ghost and you pull a trigger and it punches. Tybalt. He's violent), mint imperials, two packets of biscuits, two glasses, a massive candle (the MASSIVE one from SH4. The Prince [Me]), a banana (Benvolio) and other stuff that was lying around?
I think not. It was so EPIC. Seriously. It was an 'I-can't-breathe' funny moment. Or in my case 'I- can't-say-my-lines' *cough splutter* funny.

That's long. I'm going already.

This is such a late reply, and as cliche as this sounds, Mrs.Bradfield really made AIC and Macebeth come alive for me. It's really opened my eyes to Shakespeare, as in, I've always liked his work, but never as much as I do now. And yeah Sandy is hilariou, we had him last year. XD And we nicknamed him Sandy. :P

I hated Macbeth when i studied it with Mrs Boote, cos she made it epically boring. Plus, the only people reading it were her, and this other girl with the most annoying voice EVER.
The only time i tried to relieve this suffering by taking one of the parts, Jasmine kept showing me really funny pictures, so i'd just get halfway through my lines and start pissing myself xDDD

However, i do love the line
"False face must hide what the false heart doth know."
Always liked that :D

and holy fucking god. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
That lesson with Mr. Thomas sounds like THE most epic thing EVER. (and im intrigued by the ghost.. sounds pretty awesome).

RANDOM MR.THOMAS-RELATED TRIVIA: he played Jesus in his school nativity play. and he appeared on tv, dressed as a frog on a log. but he's burned all the tapes of it DDDD:

I'm glad I have Mrs.B tbh. It's like, when she reads, you can understand the play really well and feel all the emotion yourself. Then you think about it and learn to do it yourself and so you end up loving the play itself and it's just like brilliant.

There are loads of people who still really hate it though, but I can't say I do, because it's a really nice text if you read it really. Not a big fan of Romeo and Juliet though, so I'm glad we did Macbeth instead.

Also, there are some really brilliant quotes in Macbeth. (:
