Sorry, I missed this somehow, otherwise I would have definitely commented on it.... I'm here courtesy of your last post, where you mentioned the date. It's late now, I know, but it's a shame for Eunk Eunk. Losing a pet is never easy and much as I say it's part of every child's learning curve, it doesn't console. Hamster-heaven, here comes Eunk Eunk to cause some trouble amongst the angels and have some well deserved fun!
Thanks for your kind words, meleth. Makes me sad all over again, silly me. We got a new hamster two days ago, very alive and quick and obnoxious - named "Tilly", and Marlene is happy about it… but somehow, like I said, the other one was special, and that evening we both remembered her…
Thing is, you cannot replace a pet, not really. There will be others, just as much loved and adored, or maybe more, but each of these animals that touch our lives are unique. A new pet takes one's mind off the loss of the other one and maybe the love we give it is more cautious in the beginning, but we end up loving them lots after all.
