Take a thousand year old heroic subject matter, spice it up with a dose of „modern“ morals such as „men’s only weakness is women“ , add a few females according to type - e.g. saint and whores - and shoot this script as a CGI-mix of „Shrek“, „300“ and popular Computergames: The result is Robert Zemeckis „Beowulf“. Boo!

Definitely not going to see Beowulf after your review.

I mean, I have to say that I thought Angelina Jolie's curves were funny CGI'd. As for the tail..... (well draw your own conclusions as to where my filthy little mind went there!).

Sigh....guess I'll have to settle for reading the idiot's (i.e. Modern English) verison of Beowulf as I've read Mahabarata, the Iliad, the norse legends, everything related to King Arthur, Irish mythology so I can say I've given beowulf a go.

Hmmmm thanks for sharing, I loved your take on the film, great, insightful and constructive criticism. So I shall leave you with my favourite JDM icon and potter off to watch Deep Space Nine after another fascinating day at work.

Actually, it's a nice read. In English, that is - can't read the Anglo-Saxon even though it's pretty close to German. :-( And you're right about the tail. It's her hair, but… behaves quite differently. Otherwise, you could watch this flick, as long as you just take it as a fun thing, not a "serious" literary adaption. The dragon fight is quite nice, and the sword-cock wordplays (and other symbolism) is hilarious!
