Ok, you're probably all sick of me talking about how much I love it here, but yesterday I was walking down Broadway in Oakland and an attractive young businessman looked right into my eyes and said, "hello" as we were passing each other on the street. They can't help it, they're inspired by the weather!

I thought of you today -- I was sitting in Dolores Park reading and drinking tea and there was a guy walking a very naughty dachshund -- he was off-leash and kept leaping playfully on a guy who was strumming an acoustic guitar and loudly (badly!) singing U2 songs. The dog was so freaking cute that I wanted to yell :)

aww, and to think while you're getting checked out on the street in the nice cool weather, your friends are evaporating into the boston summer sauna. i love california too, but i don't know any differently.

The temperature dropped from the high 90s to the high 50s in the course of a day back home, can you believe that crap!? I'm glad I'm out here instead of back there, although I'm sure I'll have my share of the nasty weather when I'm back home... there's plenty o' nasty heat to go around ;)

dude. you're on the west cost right now?? how long for? we should meet up. and yes californians are for the most part really friendly. it's the hipsters on valencia street that aren't especially friendly.

I'm here until Monday and might be free on Thursday (waiting to hear back from my friend Sarah for confirmation of tentative plans) -- I'd love to see you! I was thinking for some reason that you'd already moved "back east." Email me! :)

Sorry, I just got onto this LiveJournal thing. If you are going to come out, give me lots of notice and we'll hang. I tend to pack my schedule very tightly, so I need to know in advance. I have friends that get very frustrated because they want to hang out in a week. I have shit planned for months.

I'll be out during the 3rd or 4th week in August (weeks of the 14th or 21st), and possibly for both of those weeks. I'll be staying in Danville for part of the time and, if all goes as planned, possibly looking for housing in SF for September. I'll be working for at least one of those weeks (from my company's Oakland office) but should have time to get together. I'll keep you posted, I promise.
