I'm mildly allergic to them -- I won't die or anything, but my throat and tongue will get all bumpy and painful, and my tongue will swell up a bit (so it sounds like I'm drunk when I'm talking, which is, of course, loads of fun), and -- wait a minute, what the FUCK!? Did you say you were allergic to CHOCOLATE!?

when i was about 6 my grandmother brought back a large sack of the best oranges known to man (well, my 6 year old self at least). i proceeded to eat the *entire* bag and then became violently ill.

although i am not allergic to citrus i had some serious aversion to it for a number of years following this incident. sigh. what kids will do. why, oh why, did i not learn instead some anti- over- indulgent lesson!?!

oh, and let me just say, florida has NOTHING on northern california when it comes to growing a damn good orange.

Hector had an organic orange from Napa that we got at Whole Foods, and he said it was the best damn orange he ever ate... :)
