Miss Edgecombe is [there is a line of text that follows that is heavily crossed out and illegible]

She will not be in class for the rest of the week, and quite possibly well into next week. I will provide updates if her condition changes.

[Private to Filius]
Who delivered the potion to her, Filius? Was it someone from the Ministry? Did no-one tell her that she was supposed to take it ONLY under medical supervision?

I can't tell how long it will take her to recover at this point. I will let you know what happens when I have a moment to write more.

Thank you, Poppy. If you need any help with her, please do not hesitate to ask.

[Private to Poppy]
Percy Weasley. Surprise much? I can't believe he of all people would be so irresponsible. I take that back. Yes I can. How disappointing.

When administered improperly (as I'm sure is the case), the recipient may have very short bouts of selective amnesia, sometimes lasting no longer than a few moments. Other symptoms include partial memory loss, delayed onset of memory recovery, photo-sensitivity and anxiety.

Now. If you'll excuse me, all the idiocy of today's events has turned my stomach.

Thank you, Severus. My words exactly. Memory restorative potions should be taken only under medical supervision, because the initial shock requires that the patient be given a mild sedative to dull the response and lessen the trauma to the nervous system -- and the recovery must be monitored by a Healer.

[Private to Filius Flitwick, Flora Sprout, Remus Lupin, and Minerva McGonagall]

Essentially, Miss Edgecombe is now a gibbering nervous wreck. I've had to isolate her from the rest of the ward to keep her somewhat calm. And we have Percy Weasley to thank for this as well as Miss Edgecombe's own impatience.

...forgive me. I'm merely concerned about the possibility of lasting damage to Miss Edgecombe's nervous system. It's too soon to tell for certain, but I will keep you informed as to her progress.
