So, ever since I was hooked on Buffy (curses upon Tsuru, Dash, and Netflix!), I've naturally been checking out the fanfic situation. And I'm seeing one common scenario which just makes me roll my eyes

I tend to agree with you. I can't tell you how many times I've yelled at the tv "She's only 15!" or whatever age she was supposed to be at the time. I was really hoping she'd appear in the Angel finale so we could see how she was. I'm still hoping that Joss will make a movie as he spoke of doing!

Unfortunately I think SMG is unlikely to want to come back to the Buffy character, so if they do make a movie, they'll have to recast. Probably not a bad thing, considering for all the reasons there are *not* to like Buffy, Sarah Michelle Gellar is not the best actress to portray a constantly tested, semi-messianic heroine. She attempts "brooding" and coems across more as pouty and petulant.

I just find it really hard to believe that she tried out for the part of Cordelia. That's hard to picture!
