Ok, so I've kept my big political mouth shut long enough.  It's time for the ranting!  Feel free to leave intelligent comments. I'm all for debate, but not name-calling.  Just thought I'd lay that out there before I begin...

A few facts about our current Administration:
  • when Bush took office, gas was $1.47 a gallon.  Now it's $4.00 a gallon, national ( Read more... )

Hamas doesnt control Gaza, in fact we had record high oil prices friday precisely because Israel marched troops, tanks, and aircraft in.

Abraham lincoln was a one term senator - however, he spent the prior period of his life engaged in politics unlike obama. He was also not a member of the Klan, which is essentially the equivalent organization.

America is ready for a black president, as evidenced by one being the nominee. However, what america is not currently able to handle is an inexperienced pseudo communist fool who will raise taxes which as we all know drives the economy even further down the toilet.
Which is why even though i hate McCain more than anything - I dont particularly want to live in socialist europe, which is essentially what america will end up looking like.

I'm a Middle East major, and Hamas has been in control of Gaza since the June of 2007.

I am thrown by your allegation that Obama is a member of an "equivalent organization" to the KKK. Can you please elaborate?

Personally, I do believe a raise in taxes is necessary, but clearly you have a different view. Isn't it wonderful that we live in a country where all our views can be expressed without fear! Have a great day.

I was being hyperbolic, i admit. However, if Hillary Clinton went to church with David Duke as pastor everyone would freak but Wright is apparently not a problem, i just think thats fucked up.

I agree thats a reason America is great - that we can have differing opinions.. I dont necessarily think Obama camp is fostering that well however, considering being against him is dismissed as racism. Im not a democrat, I dont believe in punishing the productive through higher taxation THATS the main reason i dont support obama... but no one wants to accept it.

I think I love you. Great post. My friends and I were already planning on voting for Obama and your post reaffirms my stance :)

I could be wrong (I most likely am) but, wouldn't raising taxes help fix inflation by restricting the amount of money being used and thus result in the lowering of prices which have recently increased?

i.e. taxes are a pain but they are necessary and beneficial.

ps GREAT post :D

look at how taxes have increased over the past say 50 years, and look at the growth of government spending and inflation. Kind of one of those things that works on paper but once the money hits the legistlature it dissapears and nothing has improved for all the money spent.
