Have you read any good Sterek lately?

Fandom secret: I was like, 13, 14? And had questionable taste. That is to say, I...quite enjoyed Cassandra Clare's Draco Trilogy back in the day. I think part 2 had just started maybe when I picked it up. I stayed up so late into the night trying to read everything in one go omg I was obsessed

GOD, okay so I still regularly follow sterek. I check all the damn tumblrs (even though some are gone SADLY) but there's a current exchange or something going on? It's called Teen Wolf Glompfest and while not all are Sterek, THERE ARE SOME AND THERE ARE REALLY GOOD ONES. (look here: http://tw-glompfest.tumblr.com/) There was also a random Derek/Kira I read that was damn cute. I love Kira. <3 I also still bookmark shit on AO3 so here, easy linkage to my bookmarks in Sterek.

Oh god. Cassandra Clare. Oh god. I mean I think we all had a bit of questionable taste when we were kids. I LOVED Ginny/Draco, and if i went back to reread the fics I loved, i don't think they'd hold up. T.T

I DO NOT WATCH BLACK SAILS. i'm not a big fan of most shows that aren't contemporary? XDDDD

Man I still do not get Ginny/Draco like him and Hermione? I GET IT. But I also was very meh about how Ginny's character was handled in the novels...and it barely exists in the movies... AND LUNA EXISTS MAN. LUNAAAAAAA.

I MEAN, i just really liked her concept too? the youngest daughter in this whole family, has to somehow show herself up in this gigantic family where the brothers overshadow. even ron can, because dude, he's harry potter's second man. so, i really liked that idea? and ofc, I LIKE opposites attract so i was all about the potential. and I LOVED LUNA but i never really viewed her with draco back then.

Secret? Another? Ok actually I started off not liking Luna I KNOW WTF IS WRONG WITH ME. But I was very protective of the trio and was happy that Ginny was pushed to the side after book 2. I am terrible. It also took me some time to love Meiling from CCS I AM ASHAMED OF MY CHILDHOOD SELF. But now I love all the girls and Ginny grew on me in certain ways outside of canon bc I still think other people handled her better than JK.

Ummm. I also don't have a song that gives me feels. OH WAIT. I was listening to Honey and Clover's waltz before heading off into the great unknown of college and I remember WEEPING SO HARD ABOUT EVERYTHING IT FELT LIKE I WAS LOSING AND HAVING TO GROW UP ETC. man I should go look up that song and learn to sing it at karaoke...I am trying to pin down Ayaka's real voice but I could probably only do it at a Korean place if I don't learn some hiragana/katakana.

I SHIPPED ASH/MISTY. I DID SO HARD EVEN DESPITE HER BECOMING MORE AND MORE OF A TSUNDERE STEROTYPE AS THE ANIME WENT ON. (Not that I knew it at the time.) What was the acronym...AAMFS? Ofc Ash and Gary were a thing, huh. But I totally had blinders on back then and don' remember seeing anything with them...!

YESSSSSSSSSSSS. I don't know where I got the idea from. I think in the anime, there was just a hint of jadeite/mars, but i remember naoko takeuchi drawing them all together, and it was beautiful and such potential. i read ALL THE FICS that would ship them together. it was great. i just wish there had been more.

AHAHAHAHAH OMG YES AAMFS my first ever aim username was aamfan13, and my first yahoo email was maagirl_2000. THAT IS HOW GEEKY I WAS. and yeah, i think? idk. i guess ppl just really like enemies turned lovers. i say as though its' not one of my favorite tropes ever.

So much yes to the Sterek and Zimbits. And I don't even watch Teen Wolf. Just so much yes to Sterek.

Also, *snickers* at the Yamapi's Dead Fish Eyes. I never participated in the hate memes but I do love laughing at Pi's dead fish eyes. And all the JE jokes.

RIGHT THOUGH?! I've seen maybe half of season 1 of TW, but that was while, I think, season 5a was airing, and after hearing the shit that was going on, i basically dropped it. plus derek left. and what am i supposed to do about that?

DEAD FISH EYES WAS SO APT FOR HIM. Like, i love yamapi, but yes, he totally had dead fish eyes, and we needed to all embrace this. i feel like this is what je hate memes should've been. more about playful hate towards the boys, and less against the actual fans. because wtf, that is not fun.

They could've done so much more for Derek and his storyline instead of leaving him in this sort of hell where he's never happy and he does not deserve that at all. He was a victim of so much hate and just having him this messed up psyche & making so many mistakes where he doesn't grow better as a person or where his pack doesn't push him to be a better person (ie STILES) leaves me so so so disappointed with the writers. Also the way they left Kira out. Yeah. No. Not the right way to treat an Asian person nor a leading female. Screw that. Kira's story has so much potential to bring in all the Japanese culture into it and even crossover into Korean/Chinese to bring something fun and interesting and unique to the show where it's taking place in a state that has a huge population of Asians. idk. I just think the realms of possibility could've been explored more before going into different tangets but that's what fanfic is for ( ... )

They never really treated their characters well enough, writing wise. Like, all they ever wanted was misery for them, because that drama is where it gets "interesting." except in exchange for all this interesting drama, they got rid of one of the essential things you need in a show, which is showing character growth. How did these events help shape characters? how are they moving from point a to point b? what are they gaining? and from what i can tell, absolutely fucking nothing ( ... )

omg you reminded me of a couple I'd forgotten!!!

CCS OF COURSE IT WAS SAKURA/SYAORAN. and Eriol/Tomoyo. DEF THE BEST. hilariously though, my fav character was Meiling (hence why I went by Meiling for years and years and years), and i wanted her to be so so happy but had no one to ship her with. ....Now who is kai?

Ranma 1/2 YES I FORGOT ALL ABOUT THIS ANIME. I loved it in high school and def shipped Ranma/Akane. like come on.

FMA FMA FMA yes, definitely ALL THE CANON RELATIONSHIPS. so fucking cute.

wait there were haters for shinichi/ran?????? come on guys. that's like the crux of the whole thing. i just want this manga to be done so that we can FIND OUT HOW IT FUCKING ENDS ALREADY. I love those mysteries though and hahaha yes their kyoto counterparts were the fucking cutest.

YES. And ofc I knew about your Meiling love you were way cooler than me in that regard. That said, there was a SPRAWLING EPIC CCS fanfic with dozens of new characters. I started reading in like...7th grade? But it held up even sometime when I went back to read in college. It's probably still not complete, but there's a thief character named Kai in it and he has SO MUCH CHEMISTRY WITH MEILING they are canon for me.
