Kame stared down at the dark head resting in his lap. He brushed a few of the thick strands aside, getting a better view of Jin's sleeping face. He had never personally encountered a Star before Jin so he couldn't judge, but this was a peculiar star. Kame would often wonder if he had begun to burn out, given the color of his hair, but then Jin would single-handedly demolish that thought a few minutes afterwards with excited outbursts every time he learned something new.
Kame ghosted his thumb over the pale cheek and Jin moaned softly, shifting in his sleep. The hunter sighed and leaned back against the thick tree trunk, staring up at the dense canopy that shaded them from the sun. 'This is a job.' A job. It had stopped being a job three days ago, since that first evening when he smiled. Kame had grown to enjoy Jin's warm laugh and bright smile.
