Kame sits in the back row of the theatre when the younger kids go through their routines, one eye on Yuuto's slowly improving backflip, the other on the brand new issue of Shonen Jump spread out on his knees. He flicks through the pages of pirates and ninjas, tiny, round eyed tennis players. On stage, a kid turns and glances at him uncertainly, expectantly, and Kame calls out an encouragement. The choreographer scowls at him and barks orders at the row of assembled juniors, but it's worth the reproach to see the pleased smile on Takumi-kun's face

It feels a little like being hoisted up into the air on a harness; a hard yank around his stomach and then a feeling of sudden speed, and then he's flying or falling and landing with Akanishi's arms around him. When Kame opens his eyes and looks down at his own hands they're just black outlines with little smudges for his knuckles.

"Mou," Akanishi whines as Kame stumbles back, still staring down at his sketchy fingers, "You were supposed to take me out there, not come in here."

"What?" Kame says.

"I've been playing soccer for like thirty years," Akanishi complains. His voice is different than Kame imagined, a bit smooth and sweet and whiny. He'd always thought Akanishi would have a deep, manly voice, determined. "I'm so bored
