The second time Jin forgot he had a date with Kame, it was because they were both in the middle of a stupid fight. Jin thought Kame was being stupid and stubborn, and Kame thought Jin was being ignorant and stubborn, and what happened was six months of silence because Kame just couldn't admit he was wrong.
