I was extremely bored at work today, so hit Kim Bingham into the search engine and found some more pics of her here, here, and here. She's pretty fuckin' gorgeous really - but in a refreshingly different way. I also found this and snickered. Birds of a feather...

Thank You, Aida!! )

I haven't read Sarah. But The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things was amazing -- I read it in one day because I couldn't put it down.

Really? That good? Excellent. *rubs hands together with glee*
It's been a while since I've read something that truly moved me - I can't wait to start these.
How are things going with you btw? Where are you 'rotating' currently?? :)

I'm doing okay -- getting a bit of burnout toward the end of the year. I'm on Ob/Gyn -- it's alright but I don't love it. Also, it puts me back in the OR some, and if I never see the OR again it will be too soon. The main problem is that being around all these babies has made me start thinking about peds again. I had pretty much decided to do internal medicine (and eventually adult ID) -- had my schedule set up perfectly for next year.

Now I'm wondering if I should do peds and then peds ID. So that throws a monkeywrench into my orderly little life, LOL. I'm thinking maybe I'll change my schedule to do a peds ID rotation first, and if I don't like it that will be the end of the story.

Yeah, it's wonderful to have so many options but overwhelming at the same time... I think ID would be fascinating - had a penchant for that stuff myself during my hospital time. Paeds ID?? Wow, that's really narrowing things down, but I can understand the motivation. Paeds is wonderful, so rewarding and painful by turns. Feels more 'weighty' somehow, having a *kid's* life in the balance. Luckily they're damn resilient, so you really can't do much wrong. :)

*sigh* This all makes me wonder about *my* choice. There are times when I get so bogged down with the mundane routine of General Practice, but then I'll find a rectal Ca in a 30 yr old, or pick up an acute heart failure, or treat a 7 yr old with an appendix full of hookworms (no I'm not kidding!) and realise that I *love* the diversity, you know??
Good luck with it all hon. I think whatever you choose you'll *make* it yours, you know? :)
