(no subject)
OK, so the cinema's aircon wasn't working for the first half of the movie (we're talking summer in the tropics here, and about 200 warm-blooded mammals sharing the same box for 2 and a half hours), and the friend that accompanied me was incredibly loud and giggly and WOULDN'T STOP TALKING so a rewatch is absolutely necessary...
But I loved. After I'd gotten over the motion sickness from skipping major parts of the book that is (I had been so looking forward to the Quidditch World Cup - it was one of my favourite events in the whole Potter-verse.. and they pretty much skipped over it without even a Golden Snitch).
Random comments:
1. Hermininny is driving me bonkers. I can't remember the stupid girl's name, Emma something, but she needs to chill, take a Xanax, something. I could personally administer the shock therapy. Good LORD she was hopeless. Very pretty girl, but hopeless. Every line she spoke was a tragedy of unmitigated proportion. OVER-EMOTE MUCH?
2. Rupert was fantastic. In the earlier movies I thought he was trying a little too hard, but in GoF he shined. His humour was fabulous. And HELLO WEASLEY TWINS.:x:x When did they become so hot.
3. I remain ambiguous about Daniel Radcliffe. Sometimes I think he's really bad at this, and other times I think he's playing it with just the right amount of subtlety and introspection... One thing's for sure, when he was wailing over Cedric's body he had me crying along with him.
4. I loved that they spent so much time on the Yule Ball, and the shift in relationships between the 3 main kids. And Ron dancing with Prof McGonagall was priceless.
5. Giant/giantess love scene! She picked something off his beard and ate it!! OMG OTP. What a beautiful little moment.:)
6. Ralph, oh Ralph. Even though I was overly distracted by your weird nose I LOVED your demonic energy.
7. And even though Snape's part was small, EVERY time I even caught a glimpse of him in the background of a scene I got delirious.
It's not quite the 4th there, but it's been the 4th here for 14 hours already, so...
Happy Birthday to my sweetpea, my betrothed, my lobster... bea_nonymous. May your day be filled with Sirius/Lupin lovin, and memories of stalking, and flying monkeys, and popsicles.:x:x:x
