I went to Japan two years ago, and saw a lot of the sights in Kyoto that you did - it's such an amazing place! And the politeness thing really struck me, too. Even in rush hour Tokyo people would stop and bow and apologise if they bumped into you. Coming back to London where the crowds push and shove and no-one even looks you in the eye to say sorry really brought home the difference in attitude.

It's depressing isn't it, especially as I'm from London/go back there sometimes. It's a little better in places like Scotland and Wales, but still nowhere near.

Those deer are so cute! I'd like to visit that place and get to pet one. :)

Also enjoyed the cute hiv sign (whattt?) and that really creepy frog and snail. That is decidedly Not Cute though I suppose they were trying. Hahah.

Thanks for sharing all your pics! And I'm glad you didn't put them behind a cut, sometimes I miss short posts cause I scroll right past them - your photos definitely jumped out though. :)

Just wow! I'd kill to see some of those temples. You snapped some pretty amazing photos. I wish Americans were more mindful of others as well. Sometimes it makes me just want to become a hermit. x3

I hope you enjoyed your trip overall. :) Though the smiles in the pictures I think show that!

Haha, yeah, the trip was awesome. Sadly people are the same in the UK. Maybe not *quite* as bad as in the US but close.
