To any non-Flyers fans, or those that are also fans of other teams that may be lurking about my F-list (or hell, anyone that has an opinion, really):
Does this kind of drama happen a lot throughout the league? I mean, I know it happens everywhere to some extent, but I suppose I'm just curious.

Listening to local sports radio the other day and some guy's "worrying" about Tom Brady. This is a quarterback who threw SIX touchdowns in his most recent game, and this guy is going through a litany of things he's "worried" about.
I mean seriously. When it gets to such a point, people need to find a new hobby. Bottom line, sports is supposed to be fun, a distraction from the aggravations of real life. Sure, we all get a bit upset when our teams do badly, but to obsess and worry and post on message boards that so-and-so sucks and on and on... man. There's such a thing as going off the deep end.

Thank you for saying this. That was part of the point I was trying to make, though I don't think I actually got around to making it, lol. I never used to care about who played on what line (and most of the time I still don't), I was just happy if someone scored and the team won the game. I had fun watching. I still do, but now there's drama sneaking into it and making it a little less fun.
I tend to avoid message boards and the like. There are always going to be rumors and debates circulating, that will never stop, but the drama drives me crazy. I try to stay away from it all, but lately it seems unavoidable.

But then, I try to tell myself, you can't cure stupidity. ;-)
One of my husband's favorite expressions is "People will believe what they WANT to believe," and I just try to keep that in mind.
