Face ratings are the most meaningful movie rating system I've ever seen.

I've been reading Peter Handke's Short Letter, Long Farewell and he's starting to talk about John Ford who will apparently show up and have a conversation with the protagonist. It's making me think I ought to watch some John Ford movies. Thanks for the reminder.

Watch McLintock with John Wayne. It's a great, fun western. I love him and Maureen O'Hara together. If you enjoy them together, The Quiet Man is a great, though non-western, movie too. John Ford it up!

I approve of your list, but the 90s are sorely missing a representative.

May I recommend UNFORGIVEN?

Thanks for the suggestion! The 90s are underrepresented because I have actually seen most of the 90s westerns, including Unforgiven. But I might be interested and going back and watching some of them again, after this marathon ends!
