Hey, y'all. It's been about a month and a half since I last posted. I just got back from MaxFunCon, where I had one of the greatest days ever and a super weekend in general
( Read more... )
I did meet Maria. I performed a set in front of Maria and Al Madrigal, and she said some really generous and encouraging things to me afterwards. And, dude, that night, we had an awesome stand-up show with Maria, Al, Marc Maron, and Jimmy Pardo. Fuck, it was incredible. My cheeks still kind of hurt from laughing.
I'm glad you're alive! So when you say get out... What happened? Unless you don't want to talk about it.
Seattle is awesome. So is SF, though I've never lived there. Both are sort of expensive but one hopes rents and stuff are lower than they were. Need any help in the area, just let me know!
Nothing terrible happened. I just want to do the things that I want to do (open mic, city stuff), and I can't do it here, and this MA is kind of pointless, so I'm just, like, fuck it!
Uh, yeah, I'm totally moving to Seattle next week. You remember my friend Kristie's place? I'm totally going to sublet that from her. So, I have a place to live! Now I just need a job. If you hear of anything, will you let me know?
I am not eating any more baby-sized burritos, though.
I am fucking stoked.
For work, I want something that I can do during the day to make enough to cover rent and have a little left over. I don't want something that I'd have to concentrate hard on because that energy needs to be focused on my art of funny. So, like, retail. Or temping. Or whatnot. I want to work, and then I want to go home. You know?
And also, preferably, a walk or short bus ride away from where I'll be in the U District.
woot woot! you were missed, if you must know. don't be gone for too long? y/y
Congrats on finishing your second sem. So what happens now? Does that mean you're done with your MA? sorry, total non-intellectual you're talking to here :D
Thanks so much for the misses, sweetie! Sometimes LJ is a little overwhelming, you know?
I'm midway through the MA, but I'm dropping out. Cause I can. But not all MAs are 2 years. I think in places other than the States, they're one year. So, it's a legit question.
Nothing's wrong. Actually, stuff is fantastic. I've worked up the fortitude to do what I want to do and say fuck off to grad school. It's a good thing!

I got to see Maria Bamford because she came to campus at the beginning of the year. She is so great.

She is amazing. I don't know how she does what she does but oh my god what she does is brilliant. I just have to sit and think about it for awhile.
