1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?
Jumped out of a perfectly good airplane (among other things, but that's the highlight)

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't really make specific resolutions, so I don't know

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes, my co-worker Jenny

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No

5. What countries did you visit?
Just the U.S. (boring compared to last year)

6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
I don't know, I'd say I'm pretty lucky with what I have . . . I guess I'd say a clearer outlook on the future-that part's confusing me a bit right now

7. What date from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
June 15-the day I graduated (cheesy I know, but it's true) . . . I have lots of other strong memories, but they're not as tied to a specific date in my head

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Graduating from college and getting a full-time job at my alma mater

9. What was your biggest failure?
I don't think I've had any failures, really . . . disappointments, maybe, but not really failures

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
My knee actually gave me a bit of a reprieve, so no on the injury question

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Short Red (my new car)

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Every single person who voted for Barack Obama

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Sarah Palin

14. Where did most of your money go?
To pay tuition and now rent and car payments, too

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Skydiving, getting a job, buying Short Red

16. What song will always remind you of 2008?
Oh there's so many, I can't think of a good one right now . . . I'll come back and fill this in later

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder?: It's a toss up-on some things I'm happier, and some things not so much
ii. thinner or fatter? Maybe a bit fatter-I'm not getting as much exercise as I should/could be
iii. richer or poorer? Richer

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Keeping in touch with people-I'm terrible at that (sorry!)

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Stressing out, though I'm not sure how I could have avoided it . . .

20. How did you spend Christmas?
With my uncle, etc. in Illinois

22. Did you fall in love in 2008?
No

23. How many one-night stands?
None

24. What was your favorite TV program?
'Angel'

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
No

26. What was the best book you read?
'Blink,' even though I haven't finished it

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
I don't know that I discovered any music, but I'd have to say that getting to play 'Rhapsody in Blue' at my last Wind Ensemble concert was pretty amazing

28. What did you want and get?
A good job and a new car

29. What did you want and not get?
I don't know . . .

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
'The Dark Knight,' hands down

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I went to class, then hung out in Swing House and watched some 'Angel'

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Again, I'm not sure

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008?
Well, once I started working I started wearing more dressy clothes, though I don't know how you'd describe it other than that

34. What kept you sane?
Friends

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Christian Bale

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
The election-more specifically keeping Sarah Palin out of the White House

37. Who did you miss?
Soooo many people, too many to list (but you know who you are!)

38. Who was the best new person you met?
Probably Cara or Ben, two of my coworkers

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008:
Life is hard, but it can have its rewards
