You can blitz through it when you're back if you like. I don't have the rest because this Guo Jing and Barbara Yung as Huang Rong were always my favourites.
YES I WILL TAKE YOU UP ON THAT. How did we manage to NEVER talk about this at any point in the past ten years?!?! (did you realize it's nearly exactly 10?)
Your mother let you! My mother sometimes turned a blind eye but sometimes would nag me to go to bed. and then sometimes we'd just be visiting people or otherwise out and I'd miss it. Good thing it was usually decently easy to follow still.
I think that Idy Chan as XLN was prob my favourite. She was so Pretty in that way that little girls gravitate towards... but today we were recapping it verbally and it *was* kind of creepy, wasn't it, how XLN was Yang Guo's guardian/dajie/motherfigure at first, and then he got older and then somehow they manage to become a couple? TOTALLY wack. COMPLETELY squickier than Dan and Serena.
I thought the last time you were back I was re-watching it already? Hmm but YES. This is almost on par with P&P type classics lor... :P
My mother watch with me and then we both stagger to bed. I think I probably fell asleep watching it several times but like you said, fairly easy to follow. :)
VERY. Like Oediepal fulfilment fantasy. Probably why I liked Part 1 more!
Aie can I borrow after mich is done with it? I also want to see the whole series again. I have super fond memories of staying up with my late grandma to watch it. My bro and I would prance around re-enacting the fight scenes after.
iirc, that was the HK TVB series? I seem to remember fabulous acting, late Sunday nights, week long withdrawal, subtitles (oh yes!!).... I was majorly disappointed when Mediacorp did a version a couple of years back starring Fann Wong. Couldn't even measure up, imho.
I could look ard the video shops in SG. I'm sure they would have it. Isn't it like a cult favourite or something?
remember when we would go on an on about it on mon morn, dissecting the ep to bits? esp viv, sharon, daph? that was when andy lau was everyone's idol or so it seemed.

So like 3 years ago I bought the complete VCD set of She Diao Ying Xiong Zhuan - the 1982 TVB version that I remember watching:
