I HATE being in situations that involve food. Why do so many social gatherings have to center around FOOD. Can't people just hang out, maybe sip a beverage, and chat with each other and interact and actually look at each other when they are talking instead of stuffing their faces? Ugh ( Read more... )

i understand your frustration. i think the same thing time and time again. it seems like the center of all gatherings is food.

I feel the same way as you do. Everything revolves around food. Even spiritual holidays have been degraded into episodes where we come together with the sole intent to ritually stuff ourselves.

ahhh! i totally understand what you mean!
college is just one big food fest! there's always a birthday/christmas party/baking party/lunch gathering/dinner/FOOOOD everywhere!!
this is why i try to invite people over for tea or go to coffee shops. but it sucks when i do get sucked into unavoidable situations involving food. can't we go do something fun/active on my/someone else's 21st birthday instead of eating cake and drinking toxic calories?

anyway, i think we might have a good deal in common--would you add me as a friend?
