1.
the hypothetical fall of a body such that the only force acting upon it is that of gravity.
Jungsu sighs as he propped his chin in his palm staring blankly at his teacher droning in his dull voice about history that he doesn’t even care. He doesn’t care about the how and the why Taejo Yi Seong gye founded the Joseon Dynasty. He doesn’t care that it lasted for five centuries. He is certainly not interested about the ups and downs during its reign just that it left its legacy to the present Korea. The past is not important - well that’s a bit of a stretch. Of course he knows that it’s important. Without a past there wouldn’t be a present and obviously it’s good to know ones’ own heritage but he just can’t find it in himself to concentrate.
A low gruff voice floated into the classroom from the field below and his already waning concentration slips away completely as he peeked out the window. His eyes automatically found the owner of the voice; a handsome junior with strong built that always reminded him of a bear, mainly because he knows how menacing the boy could be. Jungsu remembers with distinct clarity of his ferocity when he had doubtlessly defended his friends which had resulted in a brawl just outside school. He had heard how the boy would not divulge anything to the school board just to protect his friends and witnessing his awkward gentleness when he apologized to his mother in the bus was - It was the reason why he started watching him.
Like he is currently doing right now, instead of taking notes like the rest of his classmates, he is watching the boy below. The shine in his eyes as he jokes with his friends, the curve of his mouth when he laughs and that sure way he moves pulls all his attention like gravity would. Then the boy looks up and their sight locks. Jungsu would have look away having been caught staring but his senses refuses to comply with his brains, his insides spiralling down as though he was sucked in by those eyes. They are nothing short but spellbinding and his reverie broke at someone’s shout.
This is the first time it happens. Jungsu feels his face heating up as embarrassment pounced on his returning awareness. He should have been more discreet! The boy will probably think him as a freak or he might have misunderstood thinking that he was trying to pick a fight. He isn’t going to let that happen again and starts to turn.
“Leeteuk!” The boy calls out.
“Yah! You with the pretty face who was staring at me just now!” Jungsu freezes at that. He definitely means him, his eyes darting around the class to see if anyone notices. “Yah! That pretty boy in the third classroom on the second floor!”
“Park Jungsu shi, please attend to your friend so that we can all return to the task at hand.” The teacher spoke from the front looking stoic as ever. The class tittered curiously and the ones by the windows look out. How the teacher knew it was him the boy was referring to was beyond him.
“Yah!”
“Okay! I’m listening!” Jungsu yells back not wanting to draw any more attention which is ridiculous since that is exactly what he is doing. The boy grins devilishly sending him warm static tingles right down to his toes.
“I’m Kim Youngwoon if you want to know my name!” Jungsu stares speechless at him. Of course he knows who he is. He even knows his nickname. The grin on Kangin’s face turns into an amused smirk and he realizes that he is waiting for a reply.
“I’m,” he croaks and clears his throat. “I’m Park Jungsu!”
“Leeteuk!” Kangin grins and Jungsu blinks at the weird name, his mouth opening to say that he got it wrong but abruptly fell silent. “Meet me after school at the main gate!”
What? He blanches in horror but even as he voices his protest, the boy walks away.

2.
the part of a parachute jump that precedes the opening of the parachute.
The hairs on the back of his neck stand as he goofs around with his friends making their way to the school just after P.E. He knows this feeling, the warm caress of someone watching rippling his skin like a physical touch but could never ascertain who it is. Kangin laughs at a joke his classmate told and pushes him away, all along trying to determine where it came from and jerks his head up, his eyes colliding with another pair above him.
It’s that sunbae he often sees. They ride the same bus to school every morning and they had never look directly at each other like this. And very pretty eyes he’s got which more often than not would curve into crescent moons when he laughs. A ridiculously high pitched laugh and a dimple so deep he wishes he could go right to him and poke it.
Right now, those eyes are staring back at him looking a little dazed and it makes him giddy too. He could feel himself gulping but his throat has suddenly lost its moisture. His whole body pulsed and his heart seems to be stuck in his windpipe. Maybe this is how being airborne feels like, that rushing feeling of being vacuumed into space, going at a tremendous speed with a gut spilling exhilaration. The euphoria ended with a snap when his teacher calls for him.
Kangin waves him away signalling that he would be right with them and looks up again. His sunbae is turning away and he shouts.
“Leeteuk!” He thinks the name suits him. “Yah! You with the pretty face who was staring at me just now!” Kangin’s mouth twitches in a smile seeing the boy tensing, his head shifting about looking around the classroom and he yells louder.
“Yah! That pretty boy in the third classroom on the second floor!” Still no respond. “YAH!”
“Okay! I’m listening!” He pokes his head out looking stricken.
“I’m Kim Youngwoon if you want to know my name!” Kangin shouts and expects the sunbae to tell him his name immediately because isn’t that how it is? Anyone would have responded automatically but instead, he receives more stares. Kangin smirks. He finds the blank look rather cute.
“I’m Park Jungsu!” Kangin grins. Now he knows his name.
“Leeteuk!” He still likes this name better. “Meet me after school at the main gate!” and he walks away without waiting for a reply.

a decline, especially a sudden or rapid decline, as in value or prestige, that appears to be endless or bottomless.
The school bell chimes sweetly signalling the end of a school day. The tide of students streams out the gate like a broken dam. Kangin waits by the side and predictably Leeteuk is the last to leave looking nervous as he approaches.
“Don’t make me wait so long next time,” he says and the older boy fidgets on one foot.
“Is there something that you want?” Leeteuk asks daring a look at Kangin. He doesn’t want any trouble and hopes that the younger boy won’t ridicule him for catching him staring like a lovesick girl.
“Yeah,” Kangin grabs his hand pulling him along, crushing his bony fingers in his. Is it just him or did the ground jolt and fell under their feet? Of course it didn’t. It just feels like it the moment their hands touched. He glances around to his sunbae tagging behind. And judging by the expression on his face, he felt it too. “Let’s hang out.”
Leetuk smiles assent. He catches up to Kangin, walking side by side matching his strides. His fingers tentatively intertwine with the others, warm and slightly bigger than his. Every molecule that makes his body lurches again and he thinks he could get used to it. They clutch on tighter. It is after all going to be a very long fall.
