Happy 4th, lady!! Yeah, I don't miss the flag-waving, but I could do with some fireworks right about now.

BTW, should you ever find yourself in London again, it'd be lovely to meet up!

I don't miss the flag waving as much as I miss the bbq and the fireworks nothing like a little flame grilled home cookin and then some flame grilled fingers later on ;)

You bet!! I want to go to London again soon, but I don't suspect thats gonna happen. If for some strange reason you find yourself in Liverpool or Chester you have to give me a shout.

Congrats! I'm glad though that you're not going to be *too* far away. We must get together before you go officially!

Indeed! I'm running around like crazy at the moment, but I'll be in touch. Worst case though, I'll still be attached to Warwick Uni for a while, and you'll know someone with a spare room in London!

Sorry you won't be moving here, but well done! If I had an open choice between the two cities in your position, I'd choose London.

About two weeks ago I walked down your street in Moseley! I was thinking of you lots when we were house-hunting in the area, but it was mid-day on a Monday so you would've been in work.

In short, Birmingham wasn't working because Chad was having trouble finding a job there and I was starting to realise that the commute to Warwick Uni from a southern Brum suburb was going to be a bigger hassle than it was worth. I figured that if I was going to have to deal with hopping multiple buses, trains, etc, I might as well live in the city where my archives are, instead of moving further from them. I've always loved London, I just really never thought I could afford a place there--but we got lucky.

I do really like Brum though and I really enjoyed seeing the Chicago photos up all around the city centre. It was actually a bit surreal! Sorry we didn't get to meet up, but I'd love to do so if I do find myself in the area again. You've been really helpful with local Brum info, so I'd say I owe you a drink!

I think that is fair comment. It would be a bit of a convoluted journey to make via public transport, especially given the lack of a train station.

I'm thinking of moving at the end of the year, probably not very far, just because it's becoming clear to me that I need a car for my job (albeit for occasional visits to far-flung locations rather than the daily commute) and at the moment I have nowhere to park one.

I can see why you'd want a car. The thing that I was finding really frustrating was that the bus service was rather infrequent. From most of the areas we were looking at, I'd end up having to take a bus to a train to another bus to get to uni, which was giving me a headache just thinking about it.

PS
Forza Italia! I take it you'll be watching in three hours? Do you have a team now that England lost?
