I've moved into London. I'm still unpacking. It seems like it will never end. But I'm happy. I'm happier than I've been in a long time. I've spent the last couple days walking around local areas in northern London and I constantly thinking to myself "I can't believe I'm actually living in London..." CONGRATULATIONS!
On so many amazing things.
You are the coolest.

Enjoy London, enjoy your new status, enjoy few loans!

Just ENJOY the crap out of it all!

(I'm completely jealous of the London flat, by the way...)

Ohhh! Thanks, lady!

To be honest, while I think you'd enjoy visiting London, I don't think you'd want to live here, so don't be jealous. If you think Chicago is a fast-paced, polluted, crowded city, you haven't seen a damn thing till you've been in London. I went out trying to find a garbage can the other day and came home so exhausted and crabby that I needed a nap. Having lived two years in SmallTown Leamington, I'm going to have to get used to this hyper-urban pace! London is more like New York than Chicago.

wow... great to hear good news! congrats!

i'm jealous of you're being "staff." i've been suffering in the trenches as a "graduate assistant" (assistant? huh?) for years. double congrats on that one!

Yes, thanks!!! I'm glad someone can appreciate how exciting this is! I'm apparently even getting a new email address and everything to reflect the fact that I'm 'staff'. Haven't had the departmental interview yet when they explain what all the changes to my status are, but I'm pretty damn excited!
