delicate knitting

I started my River stole today. I'm 20 rows in, only 220 rows left!!! I'm knitting it with size 9 needles instead of the recommended 10 1/2 US. I like the fabric it's producing, yet it's still wider than the pattern says, which makes no sense. But whatever. Wider is fine, as long as I can finish it with 2 balls of yarn ( Read more... )

I joined Rowan so I could get their magazines cheaper than at the knitting shops -- am still waiting for my #38. What color yarn did you get?

I am experimenting with hemp. The type I got is really soft, and I'm making a horseshoe lace washcloth. The lady at the store said it's more durable than linen. I made a linen face cloth, but I haven't used it yet, so I can't attest to its durability...

I have kidsilk haze in liqueur, it's burgundy. And very pretty...
