Divine Intervention
Well, it turns out that after two weeks of stress and a little fear, a little DIVINE intervention came into play.
I went home at lunchtime for a phone interview with an IBM manager for a contractor job.
I was offered the job directly after ten minutes !!!
I was also informed today that IBM decided that just perhaps my appeal with IBM has merit, and they want to put me on some kind of program.
I'm going to go with the contracting job. I'll be essentially getting a 33% raise, but no benifits. as I see it, I can buy my own benefits and still come out ahead. I also can put in a straight 40 hour week and not have to give up my summers anymore. And I don't have to get involved with too much IBM politics.
