Goodbye Jon

Friday night was the wake for my friend Jonathan, who just turned 30, and was found dead in his bathroom by his sister.

It was tough on us. He was also CAKED with makeup, which tells me he was probably dead for sometime. :-(

after the wake, aboot 18 of us that used to all work with Jonathan went to the local Pizza joint. We did laugh alot. My friend Christen flew in from Chicago for the funeral and wake, and stayed with me all weekend.

My friend Jeremy came up with the idea of all of us getting together for a weekend every year at the time of Jonathan's death. I think that's a good idea.

If Jon's death did one good thing, it really convinced me more and more that there is a GOD. And it made me realize that friends and family are the most important things in life, and that no amount of money, no job, etc is worth more than a friend.

Saturday night we went to the local watering hole in the Poghkeepsie Galleria, where we all used to sneak down to on break whilst working at the cinema. We had one last drink with Jonathan and we laughed.

My friend Joe brought up a good point. Jon had THE WORST TIMING in the world. He'd be walking down the hallway in the theater, could see a girl ten feet in front of him, and say "I'd really like to poke her in the pooper". He could then immediately turn to his right, and there would be standing a group of nuns. Jon would then let out a loud "DOH !!!"

His timing was that bad.

Joe theorized that Jon is up in the clouds, humping them. He looks up, and two angels point behind them. Jon realizes that something is up, and slowly and nervously turns his head. And there is the face of GOD...

DOH !!!
