Hey, congrats on all the phone calls! What a difference new skills make!
And boy, don't even get me STARTED on outsourcing labor. I've had just too much of that garbage this week. As far as I'm concerned right now, certain countries need to seriously reevaulate the people they consider "skillful". Ick.
But I still have a ton to learn... we kind of glossed over topics like .NET remoting, COM+, etc. I've been hitting the books to prepare for the Microsoft Cert exams.
My achilles heel is SQL Server... I need to know that stuff better.
I think outsourcing will prove to be nothing more than a fad... I've read stories recently aboot how it doesn't work as smoothly as it seems on paper. I've also heard that incomes are rising 10% a year in India. Soon it will be cheap to do business in a country called the USA. :-)

Well, that's the problem with unchecked growth like that. India is going to experience hyperinflation since the government doesn't control the economy like, say, the Chinese who are managing to cool their growth a little bit.
There *is* a place for outsourcing labor to India. Things like call centers, reservation centers, etc. all can deliver the same acceptable level of performance as they can here. It's just that when problem solving is in order, I haven't seen comparable performance.
