You know, I was drawn to watching Oprah by some unseen force and, for the first time since the disaster, actualized the compassionate and yet sober reality of the humanitary duty to protect our friends and family, which is the respectful term our pets deserve. Upon seeing the Oprah clip with the man and his dog of 14 years I immediately donated to the humane society distaster team. I would never leave my dog behind, and by helping these pets I'm sure they're saving a much larger percentage of refugees who would have died of either heartbreak from losing their pet or from placing themselves in danger for the benefit of their loved one. I show so much more compassion for animals than I do for humans. I dont think thats necesarily a good thing. I guess thats what pushed me in the direction I've been running. Holy cow, my grammar is horrible when I type emails

I second you on feeling so much more compassion for animals than i do for humans. i don't think its a bad thing though, humanity is full of corruption... animals are innocent.
