I got in to Hofstra University!!! I'll admit that Hofstra wasn't my first choice, second to NYU (from whom I haven't heard yet), but it was an *extremely* close second. Come September, I'll be living in Nassau County, which is all kinds of exciting. I'm not sure yet how much longer I'll be at my current job; I resigned two days ago and offered to ( Read more... )

CONGRATS!!! That sounds so exciting! When are you going to start looking for apartments and such?
Oh man, I'm green with envy right now. I've been wanting to go to Europe since I was 13 but every summer something came up and finally this summer (my last summer before transferring) I have a break but no money. You are so lucky! BTW, do most universities around there inform you of their decisions in February? I've got to wait until late April for mine :(

Thanks so much! I'm going to apply for on-campus housing first and hope that that comes through. If not, I've got a few friends in that area so I'll ask for recommendations.
I know exactly what you mean about things coming up every time you think about planning a trip. I'm actually putting this one on my credit card and I'll pay it off a little bit at a time as I work my way through school.
I'm actually still waiting to hear back from my other universities. The only reason that I found out about this one ahead of time is that I called the department. My job needed to know whether or not I'd be attending a business trip this summer, so I called the chairperson (whom I'd met in the fall) and asked him how soon I'd hear back. I haven't even gotten the official letter yet, just a word-of-mouth acceptance, but I trust him. Good luck with your applications! What kind of program are you applying for?
