That was funny. And it looked like a really tasty recipe (even for one who does not ordinarily like peanuts in things). Any advice on tofu brand or type to use (or avoid) for this?

Yeah, I was wondering if anyone had tried the recipe yet... Maybe I'll try it sometime next week and see if it's any good. (I do like pad thai, and peanuts in general, and tofu, and I have a similar style of cooking by throwing in ingredients without measuring, so this would be an obvious thing for me to try to cook.)

Nope, haven't tried it yet (mainly because I don't have a good setup for deep-frying). If you do, let me know how it turns out!

I haven't tried the recipe yet, but I generally use firm tofu -- soft will disintegrate a bit too easily, while extra-firm is a bit chewy. I haven't noticed any substantial differences between brands.
