How wonderful it is to see this! What fun to be back at the fair with Sam and Frodo. :D The sheepdog competition is fascinating, but oh my, the eating of the taffy apples, oooh, lovely! ♥

Thank you, Keye♥. I am so relieved to be back with them again, and hoping that I can retrieve the next two chapters before too long. Luckily, most of the lovescene was in the main file that I had copied to the second drive, so I don't have to worry about a complete rewrite for that!

Thank you! I am hoping to post fairly regularly now, until the story is complete - but I never intended such a long gap at all!

Thank you! *honoured for GAFFS to be the cause of such appreciation* I'm hoping to keep going steadily to the end of the story, now that Frodo and Sam are talking to me again *x's fingers*

Oooooooh, I missed this!!!!! You said you were going to post something and I kept my eyes on my flist that day, hoping you would indeed post more GAFFS. Well, I'm overjoyed you did. But arrrgggh, I am in a hurry now. :( I will come back to read this and leave fb as soon as possible, hopefully this evening.

I hope you are doing fine. We've become strangers, haven't we? :(

I didn't actually manage to make myself post this until - literally, though I didn't realise at the time - the 59th minute of the eleventh (or twenty-third, depending on which clock you use) hour. And I doubt it would actually have made it then had it not been for S's encouragement. I expect that's how you came to miss it - too late for one day, too early for the next. I hope you enjoy it, when you have time.

I hope you are doing fine. We've become strangers, haven't we?
I don't mean to be distant - and you don't think often about strangers, as I do of you. *huggles*

Finally had time to read this at leisure and loved it a lot. The toffee apples are a temptation and you described the difficulties of eating and watching a beloved eat them wonderfully!

Absolutely adored the scene where Frodo fell asleep leaning against Sam. Sooooo sweet that Sam caresses his curls and that Frodo smiles and wriggles closer.

The Pippin disaster was great - and eeeep, the two of the both in alliance is too terrible to contemplate for longer.

The sheepdog trial was excellent and I love of course how Til and Rafe exchanged looks - it was a little how I hope Frodo and Sam will be one day. :)

I'm so happy you posted more of this and I hope that the muses are back for longer and that we will get to read much more of this soon!!! It's always such a wonderful trip to the Shire, it always feels we are right there with them.

Thank you! *hugs tight*

*amazed that you had time to reply today, Stef♥* *smooches*

I'm so pleased you enjoyed it! Chapter 21 was coming along nicely until I allowed nyself to become sidetracked*, as noted in mail: lots of fun stuff (I hope) that I have finally managed to resurrect, with cliffhanger ending - angst (and hand-holding) to follow in the next. I am really hoping to complete the story before New Year (which is more or less what I said last year, too *sigh*)

Had a shock this morning, though. I opened the My Docs/Show fic folder (was called that for long enough before a title emerged) to find only the posted-story-to-date file, plus one for a chapter long since done & dusted… *PANIC* A quick Search found all the rest hiding in a folder I didn't even know existed called My Library, but how they got there will remain one of life's unsolved mysteries. It wouldn’t have been totally devastating had they gone completely, of course, since Back-up, back-up, back-up… is now my mantra - but the icy clutch of loss and despair sank its claws deep for a ( ... )
