Thank you, dear! It’s taken considerably longer than I expected when I posted the very first part as 1/4, but they had to get here in the end. I wanted the gifting of the corsage to encapsulate all that they are to each other - tenderness and lovesickness included! The love scenes are actually written - they just don’t please me yet. I had hoped for a post to cheer them on the anniversary of Weathertop, but circumstances - and the advent of a Mega-cold - intervened. Soon(ish), I hope - I have my voice back now - the brain, maybe not so much!

And BB’s pic is just *perfect* for them, isn’t it? *happy sigh*

Oh my. That conversation over the corsage was as sweet and romantic as one could hope for!

*mops you up*

Thank you, Belle! Sweet and romantic was the aim, I’m glad you found it so! Hoping for another chapter before too long. There would have been one to sweeten the memory of Weathertop, but for RL and a Mega-cold.

Love it love it love it love it!!!!! I very much enjoyed the details of the faire drawing to a close, with the attendant chores of gathering up and breaking down. I particularly enjoyed the detail of how every eligible hobbit tends to make a point of displaying awards won for the carrying-out. :-) I've been waiting eagerly to see how Sam would finally present his corsage, given that it's actually years and not just hours that have gone into its making. And the exchange of sentiments over said presentation has to be one of the loveliest, most exquisitely worded avowals of affection I have ever read.

Of course, I continue to adore this Bilbo, with his energetic practicality. His admonition to be sensible is so perfectly in character with Bilbo as I envision him that I almost applauded when I read it.

This has been such a delightful story to read. I'm so glad you didn't give up on it. I very much look forward to the next chapter!

Thank you, Elycia. I was tempted to ignore all the details of the winding down of the Show, but that would have been neither honest nor in keeping with the rest of the story. Sam was quite amenable to showing it all to me when I asked - I just had to slide the corsage scene in and amongst the rest. I’m so pleased you liked that - it remains my favourite part of the whole thing, even after all this time.

I'm so glad you didn't give up on it.
I never actually give up on a story I’ve started {even Captivation will be finished one day, d.v.)! I was writing the two together, but Gaffs became submerged by Pern, and then I lost most of the last day in the crash. They just wouldn’t talk to me for a long and terrible time after that, but Sean and Elijah stepped into the breach and insisted that I write for them, setting loose plot bunnies galore. Recently, of course, I’ve been writing all three concurrently, which has required schizophrenic fingers at times. I was rather hoping for Chapter 25 to cheer Frodo and Sam on 6th October, but ( ... )

OMG! *dances with joy* Another chapter! And the mostest beautiful, romantic one I think I've ever read. The presentation of the corsage was everything and more than I had hoped for as the time for a declaration arrived. The shyness, tenderness and sweetness...all so lovely. *sighs*

Nota's picture is perfect. Every detail is gorgeous.

I'm so glad that you are still working on this. *twirls you*

*blushes* Thank you, dear - I’m so pleased you enjoyed it! The entire story has been building toward the presentation scene, even more than what is to come - as it were… The rest is mostly written, but when that had such a long incubation period, maybe I shouldn’t rush it to post just yet! :-)

AAAAAAAARRRRRRRGH!

Still not in the bloody tent!

So wonderful to return to your Shire after a self-imposed, yet never intended to be so long, exile. Every paragraph, phrase and participle a feast, consumed greedily, and your Frodo and Sam, as always, brilliant.

Thank you! *hugs*

Now, let's see about reacquainting myself with The Heart of Ciara...
