Author's note: Some things are eally happened the way i write it, some are not. But all in all, its merely a fiction o my messy head.

Yes?” I picked up the phone, which woke me up in the middle of the night. There was no answer, only very loud music, and people trying to yell trough it. It sounded like some noisy club or pub.

„Hello?” I tried again, and of course there was no caller ID. I cursed under my breath. Great. Who doesn’t just love to be woken up around three in the morning, especially on a weekday? Just marvellous.

„You-kun?” I finally heard a deep voice calling out my name, but I couldn’t recognize it yet. The man must have come out from wherever he was, cause I couldn’t hear the music anymore, nor the mass of people’s loud talking.

„Yes?”

„It’s me, Satoru.”

Yes, now I finally did recognize the voice, his way of speaking and pronouncing the words. The deep tone, which always sent chills down my spine. And with this realization came a sudden pounding of my heart, and I became tongue-tied. I haven’t heard this voice more than a year. I pushed the phone a bit away and quickly cleared my throat to be able to answer.

„Or rather now Gackt, isn’t it? What’s up?” I asked and only hoped for my voice not to shake. I couldn’t even imagine why would he call me now, in the middle of the night, after ignoring me for so long.

„A lot of things happened since we talked last.” He started a bit hesitantly. „I…left Malice Mizer.”

That was surprising news. I thought he would never leave the band. Since it was “the biggest chance”. Since it was ..”the ultimate dream”, the …”best opportunity”.

„And so why would it concern me?” I asked and couldn’t deny that my voice sounded rather cold . The fuck with him for thinking that one little call and I would be alloh so in a chit-chat mood and continue where we left.

„You are still angry, right?” He asked and his voice sounded…bitter. Or maybe it was me, hoping he at least felt a bit bad about his actions.

„You bet. So..what’s the purpose of this call? Get to the point, would you?” Harsh, that I was, but hell, deep down I was still a bit happy. Satoru remembered me, and for some strange reason he even bothered to find my new phone number.

A sigh could be heard from the other line, then:
„Alright, alright. The thing is, I want to make a new band. And I want you to join me as guitarist and violinist.”

At first, I didn’t know what to say to that. How to respond. He hardly searched for me this past year, and now, calls me just like this to ask if I want to join him. Is he sane? To that, I already knew the answer. This was Satoru. It was so like him, and the worst was that I loved and hated him at the same time for it. Then a soft, not so amused laugh escaped me.

„And the sudden enlightenment came in the middle of the night, that you know someone who plays both...” I concluded, and still just couldn’t believe I’m having this conversation with him right now.

„Mou, You! Tell me it wouldn’t be nice. Being on the same stage, chasing after the same dreams again as we once did.”

Those dreams, that stage became a mere naive wish of a silly boy who dreamt so big, who loved and laughed and thought he is able to do anything as long as they fight together. But these thoughts were really naive and childish, and I only realized it when he left for the big city and the big fame. For that, I couldn’t blame him much. We all well knew that among us, if someone has a real future in music, and born to success, it must be him. But after everything we..experienced, went trough together, he still was able to forget about us...about me. New life, new people, new experiences, and a brand new world. A kid being at the Disneyland for the very first time, with lots of cash to spend. Who needs the old dummies from the past, right? We weren’t in the same stage of this life anymore.

„Do you know what time is it here?” I asked in a friendlier manner. I just couldn’t stay angry at him for long. I never could. And sometimes I hated myself for it.

„It’s SHOW TIME!” Amusement was evident in his voice, and I could swear he was even wearing that annoying, but still pretty hot smirk of his. I couldn’t stop my lips either to curve into a small smile. That phase...our phase before each performance. I knew what it means, and what he wants to achieve with using it in now. Perfect timing, isn’t it? The little manipulative bastard. My smile grew wilder.

„You haven’t really changed, have you?” A little, soft laughter escaped before I could even realize it.

„Guess you didn’t either.” He shared that laugh with me. A comfortable silence fell upon us, and I was wondering how is it possible that we are like we never parted at all. Like we still lived in that small apartment, living from part time jobs, and make small performances every now and then, practising and writing music in every given time, while joking around, drinking our ass off, puffing the burning cigarette’s smoke to the other’s face only to be able to capture the coughing letter’s lips with a smug grin.

„I missed you.” That sentence made me come back from the sea of memories about our past.. He shouldn’t have said that. No, he definitely shouldn’t. And especially not on that special tone of voice. I didn’t say anything. I couldn’t.

„Come and visit me in Tokyo next week, and we will talk everything through then.” He continued, saving me from replying.

„I didn’t even say I will consider joining your band.” He remarked, but he merely chuckled at it.

„ Oh, you will. I’m sure. But for now, I’m satisfied if you consider meeting me. What do you say?” He was again, or maybe still smirking, I was almost sure about it.

„Wipe that grin off your face. I know it’s there. And lets return to this question at a reasonable time. Tomorrow is work for me. So now, I go back to sleep. Bye.” I ended the call without even waiting for his reply. I didn’t want to give in that much to him, even though I knew that in a week, I will find myself in Tokyo, in his apartment. But the worst was he knew it too. He surely was laughing smugly. That damn asshole. So why was I grinning this happily? Cause I missed him too. Maybe he doesn’t even know how much.

Of course I couldn’t sleep that night. My head was full of recollections about every small thing we did together, wondering about my current life, and worrying about the future. I’m a musician myself, but for now, I can’t live only from playing the guitar. I’m stuck at the same place where I was years ago. Having part times, and playing for various bands in free time. While he made a name for himself. He gained money, fans and fame, living only for his music. Joining him might means that finally I can move forward with my life as well. I was almost sure that this new band will be a big hit. And I wanted to be a part of it as well. Not just for improving my career, but because I hoped that our friendship or whatever relationship we had can be repaired. Because being on stage with him...making music with him...i never felt more alive in my life.
