"Not true," scoffs Merlin. He pauses. Then hurries to add, "Anyway, you can't tell me you weren't dying to know what was in there."
"Of course I was. But I didn't just open the lid."
"Well, honestly, who'd have thought you could fit something that big in such a tiny box?"
Arthur's glance says it all.
"Shall we go after it, then?"
Arthur sighs. "Just stay close."
As Arthur turns away, Merlin catches the edge of a smile. A grin chases the worry from Merlin's face.
