You know, I don't really think of Nova Scotia as a eating destination. With inifinite curiousity I must ask, "What is it that you look forward to foodwise?"

*laugh* Most people would probably expect it to be the lobster or other seafood...and while I adore my mother-in-laws scallops, I don't think I ate any seafood at all while I was there.

My favorite Nova Scotia foods are really much more ordinary stuff, the things we'd eat just on a normal day when I lived there - pizza, souvlaki pitas, poutine, Scotsburn ice cream, various candy bars we don't have here. The pizza is very different from American pizza (and, indeed, pizza just about anywhere in Canada other than Pictou County). It's thin crust with a thinner, spicier, almost vinegary sauce, thicker slices of meats, and a secret (seriously, we've tried to get people to tell us and they won't) blend of cheese melted on top. It's also just about the only place I drink Pepsi, since they're all addicts up there and that's normally what's in the fridge ;)
